Lol okay. It's for a friend's 325, he wanted to drop his car, but doesn't have a lot to spend.
Are the spring rates really *that* different, due to the added m20 weight? Would it take away from the car's stock handling characteristics?

As far as balance is concerned. If stock 318i springs are only softer in the front and an equal rate to 325i springs in the rear, then the car will be more prone to oversteer. Just ask my friend who is running stock suspension on the front of his car and very stiff upgraded suspension on the rear ( until he has time to install the fronts) stupid idea on my friends part. You just have to be a little more cautious about balance on a RWD car than a FWD car. Snap-oversteer is a nasty nasty thing should be avoided. Who knows though, it might work out fine.
Suspension is just one of those things you cant really cheap out on and get away with it unfortunately.
