    threaded collar removal

im doing the shocks and springs right now and stuck at removing the threaded collar with my friend, we have a monkey wrench but we cant get a grip on the threaded collar and when we do the whole strut moves, its hard to hold it in place because the thing is so damn fucking oily, any ideas?

We used a pipe wrench. Specifically, an old ass Monkey Wrench. Probably the single best tool ever invented. :)

Dude nooooooooooooooooo dont use a vice!!!

Just bolt a wheel to the hub, lay the wheel on the ground and some one stand on the wheel while you undo the collar nut! easy
