    Do springs wear out?

    Guy's,

I know I need struts because my rear suspension is hopping under acceleration. So I was wondering if I need to replace my springs too. The car is a 86 325es with around 250k on the clock. So, do they wear out or will I be o.k. to just put new struts on? I'm o.k. with the current height of the car and all I do is drive it back and forth to work and errand running after hours. What brand of strut? KYB seems to be a good stock replacement, right?

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all.

Yes, any spring will "wear out" over time. How long depends on the spring, weight, cycles, etc. I have no idea what the standard life of an E30 spring is, I know my Jeep's front springs will get pretty bad over 200k.
