anybody running j-stocks on the street?

I'm wondering if anybody here has used turner's j-stock springs on the street coupled with their j-stock shocks or similarly valved shocks (pref bilsteins)

also, those who have IE stage 3 or H&R race, what shocks are you running? Do you feel they are matched well? If custom, what are your valving numbers?

I'd like to stray a little away from the people who don't have anything to compare to, but feel their suspension is great, but if you have experience to compare with, I'd appreciate your feedback.
    Thanks

are you getting rid of GC? fucker, after you spend months convincing me to buy it!

i contemplated getting JS for my car, and actually got a few rides in JS M3's. I would have gone with it, but the only thing that turned me away was the fact i would have to run slicks to take advantage of the spring rates. too much fun on street tires...

FWIW, Will Howe (ydubbs4 on the other forum) just swapped from J-stocks with Turners revalved bilsteins to GC's w/ Koni's. He's a good comparo dude.

Running IEs with Bilstiens. Factory valving. Small bumps much better than my Bavautos, but sharp bumps are a little more violent. Compared to GCs and Konis on a 318is (300/450 i believe), the semi coilovers were much more streetable, very comfy (konis on full soft).

My IEs are still not as stiff as dads M roadster, and they are a little bit bouncy. I have no spring pads or bumpstops though. In corners the harder you push, the more it sticks and stays flat. Hardly any rear end squat while accelerating. I like the way the car feels, however I wouldnt mind revalving the bils, or just getting konis.

Based on your response, I think I will try IE3s with bilsteins and shortened/stiffer bump stops as that seems to be the problem creating the harsh feeling of the bilsteins.

          cool, thanks

You are probably right on those bumpstops. I will get some in there shortly. My bushings dont help matter either. They will get replaced soon too.

edit- What would i run for bumpstops on my bilstiens as they are large tube? I just remembered my car had stock bilstiens still in it when I did suspension, and it had no bumpstops, thats why I dont have any. The factory bmw stops wont fit on the bilstiens tubes.

In the rear im running the goofy 1/2 inch rubber bottomer-saver wonder washer.

                Bryson,

I run GC Koni SA's w/ HR race......car is built for mainly track but I will drive to tracks and scoot around town sometimes

I gotta say w/ konis on soft, car is really fine except on BAD roads. I would not get billies w/ a hi rate spring....too many have spoken badly of that combo; I think its strange e 30 spec uses billies but its prolly due to politics and non adjustability factor.
I run GC bump stops.......shorter AND harder and 12 bucks each!(not bad)
I love sitting down and just driving!

bilsteins (billies might be the gayest term I have ever read) do not perform well with stiff springs, and J-Stocks are fucking crazy. You will need to get a revalved shock to work correctly with J-Stocks. I have GC 475/650 springs, and I was having under-damping problems in turn 10 at Putnam a few weekends ago on OTS Bilsteins.
Sending them off to Bilstein in a week or so.

fyi - by similarly valved shocks, I meant revalved ones. Bilstein is 20 mins from me, so revlaving would not have been a problem.

no more GCs for me, I want a progressive setup and don't want to hack my strut housings
