    H&R IX spring woes

    Hey all,

I'm installing H&R sport springs, bought from tirerack specifically for the IX,

with Koni SA's, and I've run into a problem.

The springs for the front have the wrong diameter to fit the front shock housing, even though the springs are meant for the IX

Now im confused, has anyone else had this problem? I'm calling tirerack tomorrow to try to sort this out, but any insight or experience with this would be appreciated.

post up some pics? has the housing been modified, perhaps do to the common rust issues?

Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera handy... but from what I can see, the IX's have a smaller housing for the bottom of the spring than the 2wd e30's

And also, I ran the part number on the front springs, and I found out that they are more commonly used in e36's. Whether this is a case of mispackaging or otherwise is to be seen. I'll post an update when I call tirerack in the morning.
