    stupid question

I bought a cheap vert that came with a drop, didn't bother asking what kind (it was that cheap)

I finally had a chance to get under it for a minute and check it out. The springs are like a metallic black/dark grey. In briefly searching I get the idea that they're most likely eibach pro kit. There's no numbers or any kind of writing i can see on them. What would be your best guess without pics?

What i'm mostly interested in though is the struts. The rear shocks are KYB gas-adjust but I can't see the fronts. All i see is a black tube. Is that the strut insert i'm seeing or does the housing go all the way to the top of the insert?

    Thanks

All you're seeing is the strut housing. Not the actual strut or insert.
Chances are they they skimped on the front too if the rears are KYB or whatever.

But if you can see a blue boot or better yet a big fat thick shiny piston shaft sticking up then they are Bilsteins.

The strut housing covers the entire front strut. Tiy have to disassemble the front suspension to see what kind of struts were installed.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
