    Cheap yet Good Suspension Combo's

I'm pretty new to e30 and cars in general. I have been reading up on peoples suspension combo's and see some pretty expensive setups. I know many of you fanatics have been fans long enough to know the best and cheapest springs, shocks, strut bars, sway bars... and so on. Can some of you experts share your opinions for all of us noobs? I don't necessarily want to know what YOUR suspension is like, but I want to know what you would rather do, now that you know more (type of thing).

I know I can get the H&R sport springs, but is it REALLY worth it? If I'm not really planning on racing my car anyway. I can get the Bilstien Shocks, but is it REALLY worth it!?!? So expensive for a 20 year old e30 fanatic.

This is a really interesting question and would be nice if someone could even look around some websites to find prices and make this like a competition.

I would love to make some friends from this thread too, cause I want someone to mentor me lol. Someone who has years of experience with e30's.

If you wanna drive my wifes car sometime, feel free. It has BavAuto springs and KYBs, with urethange CABs from AKG. I bet you could do this suspension for $400ish, total. Used parts might get you well under that. I have 70,000 miles on my other car with KYBs, it is MUCH lower and still feels great. A good condition used set might be had for $100 or so, I dunno. The springs are $224 new, so $100 used would be no surprise.

The AKG bushings are an easy upgrade, and the improvement to your brakes alone make them worth the $65ish that they are...just a HUGE improvement.

The car feels great, but is still very comfy for freeway life, and still way WAY better than stock on the twisties.

Next up for it is M3 mounted cabby sways with new stock bushings, 325iS rear sways and new SFBs and TABs, likely all at the same time.

PM me for my number if you want. The car is fun for very little money.

Ya, I'm with Styleprojekt, I want to see a picture of how to looks like. Stereoinstaller1, I might have to take you up on that offer of checking out the car. Haven't really driven a e30 with a lowered suspension. I heard it feels great!

By the way, if I was to start with something and get a feel for the difference. What should I buy first? Some kid on e30tech is offering me h&r sport springs for 150$. Should I take it?

What about trimming my standard springs? whats the difference?

I was thinking... trim the springs... get ok shocks and get really good coil overs (adjustable).

Yes or No? and explain down to every detail
