when i did my engine swap I compared teh e30 and e36 PS pump. they seem to be exactly the same. my m50tu was from a 325ia.

I am sure you can use Ps, hell I used the e30 pressure line, just unscrew the "adapter" from the e30 PSP pressure side and screw it into the e36 PSP and bend teh metal part a little to insure fit....

BTW y are you not using PS?

I really like the feel. You can tell when your loosing the amount of grip thats the fastest when the wheel gets light

I would say the perfect e30 steering combo would be an M-teck 2 steering wheel with the z3 rack.

I have the zionsville CD if you want it.

It won't work. Zionsville has this crazy stuff on their discs that prevent you from sharing the info. His disc won't work on your computor.
It won't even let you highlight text to copy/paste. The "print screen" button on my keyboard won't even copy anything when the CD is on.

I found that the only way to share the info with someone else, is to print out every page, or take a picture of your monitor for every page, which is a pain in the ass.
I accually took a picture of every page for someone, and the info is too large to email. I had to send the info on modifying the coupler in 4 separate emails.

It does not direct bolt up. There is slight modification needed. I would recomend the euro linkage and a lot of patience. The early and the late model are going to be the same. I have heard the Z3 ones suck for daily. I have a 95 M3 in mine.

is the euro linkage hard to get? this would be from a 323 right? I wish there was a definitive writeup with pics so dumbasses like me could follow along. what does the linkage part look like?

what would be wrong with the z3 rack on a daily driver? people with z3's dont seem to have any problems with it being too quick. I'll let you guys know once i fianlly get mine on but i think i will end up liking it better then the M3 one. The E36 m3 has steering thats far from being too quick

Remember that only the 95 M3 has the 3 lock to lock. The Z3 is 2.7 I believe.

.3 turns is nothing. ALthough the z3 rack is linear and the m3 one is slower off center, thats what im trying to eliminate

^^^ that is the list of parts needed to modify the steering linkage.

Along with that list, you will need the e36 high pressure hose, and of course, the rack itself.

                                Just bolt it in.

E36 and Z3 power steering racks bolt into an E30 with power steering. Forget Zionsville. It only takes a little firewall modification. You need to move the hole a little to the side and down and then make a new gasket plate.

The site is sometimes under construction but has all the info for the swap. Come on guys, 2.7 turn is Honda Civic stuff. My 58 year old wife drives one.
