    rubber boots disintegrating=front shocks

You know the blue bilstein boots for the front shocks? Mine are torn to pieces. Anyway to protect the shock without having to removing it?

To replace the boots, you will have to remove the strut assembly and remove the upper strut bearing and spring. There's no other way to protect the shocks.

That said, unless you drive a lot in dirty/dusty environments, the life of the shocks won't be drastically decreased by the missing boots.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
