I want to know how much of an impact the sway bars have. I will have my bilstein sport and HR sports installed this week but I have heard that sway bars can make your car really hard to drive in the rain regardless of of tire condition. I am right, any thoughts?

my 318is has h+r/bilsteins from turner motorsport, with the stock sways, and i think its pretty good for a daily driver. lowered the car, reduced roll quite a bit, but it not too stiff and i don't have to play excessive pothole-slalom everywhere i drive. I was saving up for a sway bar upgrade, but i was already really happy with the turn out, and then a whole bunch of stuff broke, so i needed the money to fix it.

I have H&R sports with Bilstein shocks, and I am running ST swaybars. I use it as a daily driver, and love the setup. I haven't driven it much in the rain since I replaced the suspention though, so I can't tell you how it acts in the rain. I haven't had any problems though.

I had someone else install my rear shock for me. Were they supposed to use the supplied blue boots or reuse the black things?

nefarious7907 - It doesn't matter if they use blue (apparently supplied by your shock maker) or black (original) shock covers (or boots as you call them) ... as long as they took the gold disk thingy (which IS the top of the black boot) and put that back in also. Otherwise if you hear your a pop and/or some rattling back there you know they did the install wrong...

Here are some pics from my install. I got replacement black boots from BavAuto along with some new gold disks..

Jon 325i - Can you tell us how the GCs and IE stage 3's compare to your H&R Race springs that you just sold?

Can someone post a picure of what the shock mounts inside the trunk are supposed to look like. Mine looks ass backward and three kinds of fucked up, on each side the washers and bushing are in a different order.
