Where to get rebuilt steering rack from?

I want to buy a new/rebuilt steering rack, and have a core on hand.

Looking for e36 or z3 rack basically.

What's the latest on a reliable source to order a rebuilt / warranty unit w/o paying 400+ for one?

    Thanks.

I used them about a year ago for a E39 rack. I was pleased with product and service. I will use them again when needed for my E30.

I too have been looking for a Z3 rack to go into my E30, and the problem I've been having is that I can't use my E30 rack to get a core refund on a Z3 rack. Even with the link above, the rack would be $375 without having a core to return. I guess since you have a core, it's not an issue. I'll probably just have to break down and pay the core charge, but I'm subscribed to see if anyone else has some good links to other sellers.

A rebuilt rack just has the seals and stuff replaced. A re-manufactured rack is what you want.

Good to know...and that's why IMHO it's better to just pay a little extra and do it once right :)
