    Billy strut lock nut

Just got a set of billy sports in from blunt and wow. They are some beefy motherfuckers. My scavenged GC kit is going to have to go on my other car because there is no way I can fit the hats on these.

Is the billy lock nut for the sports suppose to go all the way down? I have only been able to get it down so far before I can't get it to go down any more. This kind of bothers me as I'm kind of low already. Also can I buy a tool to tighten them down at harbor freight? Right now I am using a monkey wrench (classy, I know.)

    Picture of current situation.

That will be fine, all the threads are being used. As long as the strut doesnt have up and down play in the housing. I tend to use monkey wrenches too lol.

And if you have the GC spring hats, they'll fit the Billys fine. The don't slip al the way down like they did before, they sit on the top away from the uncompressed spring.

Good to hear that I'm not the only one with an 'everything is a nail' theory with tools(also everything is a hammer.) I noticed on my other ones that the strut nut didn't go all the way down so I feel better.

What I ended up doing with the GC Hats since I wanted my cheap ass junkyard find camber plates to be able to articulate is use washers to space up the camber plate to the required height then use a step bit to drill out the middle of the hat to fit it on the slightly larger area after where the plate mounts and they work just fine!
