    GC coils popping

"popopopopopop" is ALL i hear when im turning at like 2-3 mph.
when i'm at normal speed, there's no more popping during cornering...don't know what the problem is.
I was told this was a usual occurrence with GC coilovers and there's really nothing you can do about it, but WTF this is annoying as fuck.
    I have koni shocks btw.
anyone know what the problem may be?

Mine do this too. I thought it was my fucked up tie rod, but I'm not sure.

That sounds like what happens with plain sperical camber plate bearings. They bind slightly cand cause the spring to "wind up". When the bearing moves you hear a pop. This is completely normal and doesn't hurt anything. A bit of light oil, frequently applied, will help.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I plan to take mine apart and relube them pretty soon.

Cool, good to know it's not progressively wearing anything down or manifesting a problem with the camber plates themselves. Will add oil when I have time, thanks

Lucas Red and Tacky is what GC recommends for their plates. Any local autoparts store should have it. Mine did this as well.

I had to add some red n tacky grease immediately as my GC plates were popping from day one. I've had to regrease mine every few months (they are up for it again).

Dood. So glad I saw this thread.
My e28 does this (GC+camber plates), and it's been driving me nuts since I replaced almost everything suspension-wise...

                    Thanks, guys!

Probably the spring binding and un'binding..
Even the HR Race springs do that since I removed the spring pads.
Jack up one corner and have someone turn the wheel while you watch the spring.. If you see it suddenly rotate a bit when you hear the noise, bingo. :)

Cosmo camber plates dont have bearings that can be greased. GC race plates do have steering bearings that CAN be greased, so ignore what people are saying about grease. It might make it worse.

Thanks for steering me in the right direction Kev. I'm having this same issue and it's driving me fucking crazy.

Will lube up and report back, hopefully that'll fix my problem.

Would this possibly occur w/ IE3s and billys? I have this same problem and I thought it was my 2 piece steering shaft being loose, so I tightened the big brass nut under the dash.
