AST 4100 Users: What is this?

    Hey Guys,

Today I was swapping my track wheels on the car and noticed something odd with the rear shock - there is a loose plastic washer around the piston of the shock.

I had my mechanic do the install a few months back, and haven't bother to take off the wheels since. Did he forget to take the washers off, or is there a reason he left them on? I guess I don't see how leaving them on will hurt... but I'd like them off if they don't need to be there. Thanks in advance for your help.

no worries dude i think its there for the bumpstop. prolly so it doesnt get mashed onto the shock itself. i would keep it on.

Thats the front bumpstop vent installed on the rear shock.

Just trying to help. Front white piece has larger hole than rear, yet you can see the large hole on the rear. so....nevermind

I took mine off. Didn't want anything that could end up being abrasive against the shaft. BTW are you not going to put boots on the rear shocks?

I can't run the stock shock tubes because of my rear shock mounts... I think they'll be OK since the car is basically a track car now, and sees 1-2 thousand miles a year TOPS.
