Replaced upper strut bearings and now the car is def lower

Has this happened to anyone? My wheels were never in the wheel wells and now the very top of the tread is in the wells. I thought I was seeing things until I compared old pictures of the first time I put the suspension in. Using spring compressors wouldn't do this!?

I bought OEM strut bearings and only compressed the spring, removed the bearing and put on new ones, releasing the spring. Strange. Even my wife said it looks lower and she wouldn't notice if her muffler fell off.

I would be interested to know what brand they are. OEM could be a few different brands.

I do believe someone else had this observation within the last year as well.
