A Few Qustoins about 325IX Suspension (Ix Owners Chime In!)

I just managed to purchase an e30 that is all wheel drive.
Like almost every other person on here I would love to slam it and put some wheels on it. I did a bunch of research on what people have said and it looks like gc is the way to go. I go on websites and it seems like the all wheel drive has a different set up and certain coilover kits and set ups do not fit like the other e30's. Can anyone chime in on whats a good route for the all wheel drive owners. Price range really isn't a deal because I would save to get the right thing but All options are best. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and one more thing some say welding is required. Can someone elaborate on that. THanks!

The regular E30 kit fits the ix. You need different shocks for the the front of the ix though. Call GC up and talk to them. Apparently they now have a shortened shock that fits the ix.

The welding includes cutting a section out of the strut tube, welding it back together, then cutting off the old spring perch and welding on the new adjustable one. They also cut off the sway bar mount and relocate and reinforce it.

That said, why the hell did you buy an iX if you wanted to slam it?
