    Power steering HELP!!

i just purchased a 91 318is slicktop and the power steering is having an issue. the steering still works fine its just the power steering is really really light, almost no resistance, i could turn the wheel with my pinky! what do you think is the problem? do i need a new rack altogether? seller seemed to think it was a "slip ring"? and another member said it was just a really "assisted" rack? thoughts? is there an easy way to fix this?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

That doesn't sound abnormal to me.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I had the same problem in my 318. The rack it had was way over boosted. I swapped out for a new (rebuilt) rack and it was worlds better.
