I have play in my swaybar endlinks. I think some of it may be due in part to the busted up links I replaced (they may have hammered the round holes in the bar slightly out of round), but the new links I put in last year simply won't stay tight enough to prevent noise (yes, I did use an allen wrench and a 15mm socket to tighten it up).
There isn't enough room to shim the threaded rod (speaking of, shouldn't they have shoulders on them where it goes through the swaybar?) Did I buy cheap links? I didn't go out of my way to get cheap ones.
I'd be quite happy with some useful suggestions, particularly those that don't involve replacing the swaybar, as it works just fine.
