    Budget struts with M3 springs?

    Hey all!
I just bought a pair of M3 front springs for my 91 vert (only fronts cause I like the height in the rear) and I was wondering if you could recommend a budget pair of front struts. I heard Bilstein touring could be a good option. Can KYG struts be used with M3 springs in a vert? I know Billies Sport are a good option, but I am looking for something less stiff and more comfortable (and cheaper).
Anything else I should consider replacing besides springs and struts?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Aloha!

Honestly I think KYB shocks are a great and super affordable choice. They will be just fine with M3 springs.

The vert on the left has KYB struts with M3 springs front and rear. They ride and handle great.

That is great! Thanks guys! What KYB strut model do you have installed? The insert has to be 51mm, right? Do you guys recommend a particular website where I can buy these struts from? Price-wise I mean.
        Thanks again!
        Aloha

Honestly almost any parts store can get them for you.

I personally use BMA Parts since they are local and cater to E30 owners. They of course do shipping as well.

Thanks a lot! I used BMAparts before and their price and service (shipping to Hawaii) is great. I'll order two KYB GR2 front strut inserts soon. Cheers!

I had M3 springs and Bilstein touring shocks on my previous vert and I like the comfy ride.

How much would KYB cost you? Bilstein touring shocks is $269 shipped for all 4 posted in shox.com.

I got KYB's recently from partsgeek for about $35 each. I'm on stock springs but they are stiffer than I imagined. Which is a good thing. Good for DD though.

KYB's are great on a budget. I usually recommend them for use with M3 springs or H&R sports. (Not Races though)

How would Boge Turbo Gas struts/shocks work with M3 springs?

Would the drop be like 1" in front?

I'm preparing to install M3 springs w/Bilstein Tourings on my wife's '88 325 and read somewhere that it will drop approx 3/4". Is this all around or only in the front? Car currently has OE springs w/red stripe and realoem lists a 9mm upper spring pad for the red springs or also a 3mm pad. Which did you guys use?

I had an m42 vert, so engine was lighter and front had more fender clearance. I had to use thicker spring pads in the rear and 15mm drop hats in the front. I also removed the front spring pads and replaced it with a bicycle tire tube.

Oekundar had a 325 vert with m3 springs and drop was great. Try to search his thread.
