    Koni Collar Nut

Ok, just received Koni Sports but no collar nuts...I have Bilstein's in there currently what is the likely hood the Bilstein nut will fit on the Koni's? The Koni's did come with a spacer that fits down over the top of the shock body to effectively enlarge the diameter...maybe with this off the Bilstein nut will fit?

    Thanks in advance,
    Casey

You CANNOT use a Bilstein nut.

Most of, but not necessarily all, of the Konis are designed to use the STOCK gland nut for their application. The problem is somebody threw yours away when they installed the Bilsteins which required new nuts.

Try to find the exact stock gland nut that should have come on your car, and try them first.

Correct. You can't use the Bilstein glan nuts and need to buy a pair of OE parts.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

OR, go to the junk yard and hammer a few used ones off. Save some money and time waiting for the dealer to get them in stock because EVERYTHING for an e30 seems to be special order. At least at my local dealer

I didn't use those two black rings when I installed my Konis.
Not sure what they're for exactly.

How in the hell is the OE gland nut supposed to fit a Koni insert? The shaft diameter is totally different.

First, the stock 325 strut shaft is 22mm, and so are Koni 325 replacement strut shafts. Second, the retaining collar doesn't touch the shaft so it doesnt matter anyway.

You use them if they fit, you don't use them if they don't fit. The BMW gland nuts vary.
