    Polyurethane Bushings with sway bars

    Hey guys,

I'm installing a vert bar in the front and also redoing my entire rear end, including bushings and IE weld on camber kit. Since it will all be out I am looking into new bushings for my rear sway bar. I'm also running H&R sport springs.

If I go with the Poly:

    1. Will it actually make a difference in performance?
    2. Will they squeak
    3. Will it ruin my ride quality

I don't track it. Just have fun around corners and driving through the mountains.

    Thanks,

    Adam

If you don't track the car, stick with OE bushings.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I agree. There is a reason that not a single new car you can buy, has urethane bushings anywhere.*

I am aware of the one year only experiment by Chrysler in 1995 on the Cirrus, but they have all been replaced. And I consider the 1988 IROC to be actually more like nylon than urethane.

        1. They last longer than OEM
2.If you grease them when you install the bar no. Only the poly trailing arm bushings get squeaky. But grease can sure that too.
        3. No

It's really about how you want the car to feel, not really a question we can answer
          without mind reading.

I'd personally go with urethane on those particular bushings but i have my own reasons which may not be similar to yours.

I ended up going with OEM. Found a Vert sway bar and ordered my bushings/links on Pelican. The current bushings including the links are so incredibly crapped up that I think this will make a great difference. Thought I would take the safe route-- I'm sure this will be a nice improvement. Thanks for the input, gents.
