m3 front shocks

i picked up some bilstein sports for an e30 m3 from a guy on bimmerforums, i though they would fit an 84 318's struts but they dont :( the guys at bmpd had the same part number for the 318 and the m3, when i called they said it was the same size and that they would fit no problem, thats why i bought them. i read some where that the newer e30's had a larger diameter strut housing, will the e30 m3 shocks fit in those? and what models have the bigger strut housings?

The m3 shocks are for 51mm strut housing. I guess you have 45mm on your 318.

The cars I know was delivered with 51mm struts, are 325i and all touring models.

Its half price weekend at pick a part. Grab some newer strut tubes and upgrade your brakes while your at it.
