No ps and z3 steering rack

How hard is it to turn the wheel parking? I'm a big guy just wondering because of the shorter turns lock to lock. Also is this the best/most preferred rack to swap?

I've got it for a couple of weeks now, no big deal without ps. You just learn to steer when on the move, doesn't take an extraordinary amount of force, you can still do most things one handed. Make sure you get a poly or aluminium steering guibo though, the rubber stock one has a hard time with the added force. And the solid guibo helps a little with the parking too, although I don't know why.

Bloody perfect, I have been wondering this for a while. I am not running ps and I don't intend to so this was a large concern for me.

I got mine from akg but I think somewhere on r3v there's someone selling them. Non airbag cars can run without a guibo altogether iirc but don't quote me on that.

Airbag cars have a u-joint instead of aguibo because they don't need the steering column cushioning required when your chest crashes into the steering wheel during an accident. So I suppose, theoretically, you could replace the guibo with a u-joint. Just not sure what other parts you may need to make it fit.

You are correct, you can replace it with a U-Joint.

Vorshlag has done this and sell them.

They also sell a complete assembly:

PS delete + smaller steering wheel + z3 rack would be a curious combination.

Ok I swapped it. No Ps is totally cool but with the quicker ratio I think I may just hook it up since I can just bend the old lines.

#1 I have an airbag equipped car and it has a steering giubo.

                            #2 It's giubo, not guibo.

#3 The giubo is not for impact protection.
