Go to your local kyb dealer and buy one. Its more then just the length of the assembly. Valving, eyehole width and diameter, shaft length and diameter. Take measurements, post your findings, and get a refund.

A few quick probably answered before questions. Is there a DIY for how to adjust the bushing on the rear Camaro KYB to fit on the e30? And if using a rear MR2 insert for the front of the e30, are GC camber plates a direct fit?

I received the inserts (brass bearings) part # 6659k15 from mcmaster.com for the rears and popped them in. The are not as long as i'd like but they work ok when you torque them down. The quality of the bearing is crap. It is a cast piece with a fairly rough surface. I installed the shocks with some brand new IE RSMs using the supplied hardware that came with the KYBs. The fronts mounts need to be 1mm larger then stock.

No they would not, the MR2 insert requires that you swap the strut mount bearing as there is a 1-2mm difference in shaft size (vs e30 stock)

I've also been running the cheaper KYB Gas-a-Just rear monotube shocks for couple of months now with no issues. I have a set of Bilstein Sport rear which I was going to put on but decided to try the KYBs after messing up one of the top threads on the Bilstein. Can't really make any direct comparison claims as I've never run Bilsteins before but these KYBs seem to ride pretty good and stiff. Can't beat the price! :)

can any one tell me the difference in tube diameters? I'm running a coil over setup in the rear that slides over a bilstein sport shock, will it fit over this kyb? The kyb looks bigger...

OK... So for my benefit after reading through this thread, one would need the above shocks and some lowering springs such as these Vogtland springs for my 1991 318is:

Then in addition to that you would need to slightly modify the lower eye of the Camaro shocks by pressing in a slightly different bushing.

Then on the front MR2 strut inserts you would need to modify your camber plates if you have them for the slightly larger MR2 shafts, and also come up with a spacer to fit inside the strut housing because the MR2 strut insert is shorter than the OEM or replacement inserts.

Does that about summarize it or am I leaving something out?
