    Drift Setup Questions

Hey Guys, i'm new to modifying suspension on cars. I bought coilovers but now I don;t know whats next. Can someone please provide me some guidance on what I need to make my e30 sedan stiff enough for drifting?

Please provide some brands or links if you like to help me out.

    Thanks!!!

Look into a front and rear strut bar. They stiffen it up like a boss.

I'm running a sparco front and no-name in the rear.

I have no complaints so far with my countless street drifts and one full event.

I'm no drifter but tossing on a thicker rear sway bar made my car pretty tail happy. I have the ST bars but they are kinda a paine to install. Look in to reinforcement brackets if you run thicker sways or else you will eventually rip something off your car. My rear swaybar tore itself out of the chassis after 3 hours of practicing at an ABR event.

OK you need to make the rear as stiff as you can. So 1000lb springs can help. Solid bushings will help too

What bushings for the rear? There are so many. So far I'll be getting strut bar and sway bar.

AKG makes some pretty decent stuff. Some people like energy suspension. There is a member here who makes his own and sells them as a complete set. Can't remember his screen name though. Ireland Engineering gets mixed reviews.

                      well my 2 cents

I have done alot to my car to slide it. Harder springs are not always better, its really dependent on your drifting style. You'll notice that a lot of the pro guys seem to have softer setup and there cars are a little higher than the Japan drifters.
Me personally I'm running no sway bar in the front and the thickest IR sway bar in the rear. And i have solid mounts all around with weld subframe mounts in the rear but i have a progressive spring in the rear on D2 suspension. But i'll be first to admit my suspension is not the best setup, but I only use the car for drifting and haven't had any issues.
heres a lil vid its a small lay out but its fun.

                        Fucking love it.

Do you have more info on your car, a build thread perhaps?

                            Thanks

Well honestlly id be here all day talking about everything ive tried on this car.
But to give it a quick brake down. besides what i listed about suspension. Motor is M20 wasted spark on 14 psi, MS2,tuned 295hp 300 tq. Full cage. OMP seat. Pulled fenders. Now I have the wisefab uber angle kit (write up was posted up a page or so ago) so i had to take off my front fenders not sure what to do now. RX7 front calipers, oem rear with wilwood extra caliper kit for e-brake. alot of other little crap. My wheels are the XXR 527 i think Hell i dont remember, i do know they are 17 by 9.75 (which is freggin stupid why they didn't just go to 10'') +25 offset and im running 25mm spacers all around. Hope that helps.
