    tie rod removal

guys, having trouble unscrewing the tie rods from the rack. all the locking tabs are bent back so it's not that. how tight are these things screwed into the rack? or do i just need a better set of vice grips? the ones i am using don't have the curved jaws and keep slipping off. or am i missing something?

$50 to get it professionally done and get a computer alignment report, I wouldn't save that money .
