How to tell Bilstein sports from HDs, visually?

I'm trying to pick up some used Bilstein HD's for the front of my e30, but the part number (on the silver band) has worn off of the strut insert.

The current owner doesn't know whether they're HDs or Sports (they came with his old e30, not installed).

He said they have these numbers stamped on them, but nothing else identifying the model

    7060127W*1 and 31.32-1127 487.2

How else can he tell if they are sports or HDs? Measure the travel? Some other visual difference?

Four of the numbers, or more, will be stamped in the top "chrome" part, right under the threaded pin.

As I understand HD's are sprung the same as the sports only sports are 10mm shorter.

here's a pic the owner sent me. He said he doesn't see anything near the "chrome" part. Can you point exactly to where he should be looking?

unfortunately, I haven't seen e30 bilstein fronts personally up close, so not sure where to look!

Look like OEM 45 mm struts for early chassis. Just on visual look.

              I agree.

And the one on the right looks blown.
