    KYB shocks/h&r sports combo?

wonder what anyone thinks of that setup? looking for a mild drop for a daily driven e30..

my goals were under $400 new, figured kyb's would hold up, and ive always used h&r on the other cars so logically was the best buy i could find other than some ebay junk or used billies.

    any thoughts? experience with kyb's?

    Thanks!!

Your better off with used billie sports. They last damn near forever.

You might find the KYBs too soft. I have them on Vogtland springs (over a year now, closer to two), and even out of the box there's still a noticeable amount of body roll and nose dive under braking.

They're comfy just for cruising around, esp. on the highway, but allow too much movement during cornering (in my opinion, anyways, you might like them). I still want to hear from more people who have KYBs to see if it's just something with my setup or if everyone else agrees they're too soft.

That is only about the ride height. My car is pretty low for a non-coilover car. I have about 5 years on those, they still feel like new. I have 2 sets of KYBs I really like them...and yeah, they are comfy. Not racecar. Personally, I would never own Bilsteins, they are just too rough for a daily driver for my taste. I might have been OK with them when I was 22, but I am 48.

I still want to try some Koni, see if they have that "supple" feel of the KYBs.

shocks are something u dont want to cheap out on. i suggest u get some bilstein HD's

u dont want the ride to be soft otherwise youll be asking why didnt u just buy oem shocks. the hd's are a little more expensive, but improve the ride and lessen roll greatly. i love my hd's.lol
m20 is plenty. im simply a drifter.

I could send you some toasted billies from my e46? lol!

Sorry for not keeping up with this thread... for price cost, i decided to pull the trigger on the kit. stuff came in today so we'll see what its like the first chance i get to slap them on. Ended up going with:
                  KYB/H&R

                  Refresh Kit

As well as new control arms, fcabs, tie rod ends, etc. I figured a full refresh will be nice on the daily, and got everything at a great deal.

Like I said, this car is not going to see track time, the most it will see is some spirited cornering. With that in mind i could definitely justify spending almost Half the price of the H&R cup kit that has the billies.

                  Next question....

What do you guys think of:

From what i understand, Whiteline makes some very good products, and this including heim joint end links may be a useful option on the track car...

I know theres much debate over heim joints, BUT for the track....

Thanks for the input again guys!

Have approx 4k miles on everything and it's flawless so far. Ride is comfortable, perfect for a daily. Height is low enough to give it a good look, but you can still clear roadkill and debris. Id say its the best bang for your buck deal on an inexpensive, quality kit.

I have kyb with hr oe on my eta. Too soft and rides like a boat on highways with little bounce. Had about 2000 miles on it. Can't wait to get rid of it.
