I'm about to pick up a set of vogtlands for pretty cheap, and i know that the guy had them on his ix before. He also has a set of billsteins for the rears, and here's the problem, i have a 318is. Are there any modifications to make these shocks in the rear work? Or are they interchangeable?

are they iX springs or i springs? either way, the front of your car will sit a bit higher, because they are designed for the heavier engine out front. Rear shocks should work fine. Are they sports or HDs? since you're lowering the car, Sports would be the better choice. -

just picked up the springs, they are in pretty good condition with minimal rust on the surface. The rear shocks are heavy duty's. Is it a good idea to get a set of sport bilsteins for the front? Or should i just have heavy duty's all around?

The valving is the same between the two. The only difference is the length. If your buying new get the sports.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

What about the springs themselves? I have been trying to search and see if the front springs will interchange with my 318is. I can't seem to find dimensions anywhere. They might've been for a 325i and he had them installed on his ix. Consensus?
