I want to drop my car pretty low on springs, not coil overs (too expensive) I keep hearing H&R but the drop does not sound low enough...anyone have any suggestions? pics of what you are running in the $200-$300 range would be great. I am looking for low over performance for now. thanks in advance. My 91 M-Technic appearance package white/white restoration is coming along great....just came out of paint and body....up next the DROP...then interior....removable hardtop painted white also coming back form the shop tomorrow I hope....

coilovers maybe later...i just spent enough cash getting rid of all the rust, dents, and crappy paint job that the last owner allowed to happen to the car...shipped from Virginia to California where it belongs....Comment

You could select what spring rates and lengths you want, and then buy used circle track parts on ebay. That's what I'm doing with my car. In the end it will cost somewhere around $75 - $150
There are a few members who rock coilover springs in the back with no adjustable perch. IIRC they were somewhere around 5" in length and 500 rate. Do your research.
Or you could just get off the shelf stuff and not have to worry about anything.Comment

oil pan casualty on my last m-technic that was lowered...hopefully a little older and wiser this time around.....but it still has to be low to complete the look in my opinionComment

With a coilover/adjustable setup you can just run helper/tender springs.
With a single spring arrangement there's not much you can do. Progressive springs usually don't have this problem because the low rate coils can be made long to negate this. I'm guessing that this is one reason why H&R races are progressive.Comment

You can buy coilovers for less then the price of H&R races.

Me tucking 215/40/16 front and rear on a early model which is not easy to do.
