    for the lowered crowd

I don't know how many of you actually have your e30 dumped, but I have come into this problem with the front sway bar:

    - the sway bar link angles become reversed when lowering the e30, and thus cause them to bind.(sorry i should have gotten some better pics of how the sway is rubbing/ grinding into the mounts). I have talked to some other forum members and they also are experiencing this problem.

so the question is this, how did you go about fixing this? I see two options. you either run no front sway bar, or you have the sway link to the strut.

If anyone has any ideas on another way to fix this, or just information/ pics of the sway attached to the strut it would be appreciated. :)

-i believe this can be useful information to others

i have heard of them but really have no clue. Can you please explain.
im assuming they are just tabs that are welded to the strut to allow for a longer sway link? does anyone have good pics of them actually installed/ where to precisely install them?
-I wanna get the most information out of this

edit* since i am talking about the stupid low, dumped crowd that has sectioned their strut housings, id like to know how mounting would be affected/ finding proper length sway links due to the change in strut length.

Well at that point of being low, A sway bar is pretty much no good. I usually unhook mine and go about my day. Try it out and see if you like it, if anything make some custom end links..

is your steering rack like 1cm from the ground?

That's fucking retarded. Does it handle like complete shit?

Yes, I'm secretly an old man.

just leave it and wear it out like you're doing with everything else up there. no need to try and save a $5 endlink when you're killing tie rods, bushings, bearings and everything else

This is what they look like

The M3 links will be too long if you are really low though. You can either section them like you did to the struts or find a car thet uses similar ones that are shorter. I know e46 guys that are slammed use Chevy Impala SS rear links for their fronts, theres a possibility they would work for e30's as well since the suspension is the same general design.

thanks for the useful information guys. i think ill just try unhooking the sway for a bit. If i don't like it ill just make some custom mount/ end links.

e30Spdfrk- i notice the sway sitting parallel. i assume that is the correct angle for one to sit? i wanna get a reference so that if i do make something- it will be correct.

Yeah you want it sitting as parallel as possible at ride height so you get the most leverage out of it. The control arm gets in the way when you're slammed though so you would need to make it slightly above parallel.

Get out your ruler and spec out some end links. Use Aurora links, more expensive but they will last. You can also order through McMaster. An acquaintance did this on his e30 and it cost him about $55 shipped for solid end links.

Nothing to measure on sectioned tubes. Just put them as high as you can.
