Extended ball joint shafts to fix camber curve on lowered cars

Would an outer ball joint with an extended rod and a collar for the strut to sit on be a good idea to help significantly lowered car fix the front suspension geometry, or would the rod be too flimsy like that? Basically what I'm thinking is something along the lines of a roll center adjuster on an M3.

More importantly, who can make me a set? :D

For what you think you are trying to achieve...you'd be better off cutting off the bottom tabs of a stock spindle (where the tie-rod & control arm ball joint mount) and welding in material to have them sit 1" (or whatever you need) lower.

To correct the increase in camber from lowering the car the bottom of the strut needs to move inboard or the top of the strut needs to move outboard. While a control arm that has less distance between the ball joints would do this it would be easier and cheaper to use adjustable camber plates to move the top of the strut.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding it correctly, but I'm not trying to change the static camber angle, but the rate of change of camber on a car lowered for cosmetic reasons when it enters a turn. Mostly just throwing ideas around.

They make what you're thinking of for other cars, but I haven't seen any for e30's yet.

Okay, but if you get the static camber back where it belongs you will fix the cornering camber.

I think Roysneon is asking about restoring the control arm angle so that it gains or at least maintains camber as the suspension compresses as opposed to losing camber like a very low e30 does (control arm angled up)

I think the issue with this type of solution is that you would have clearance issues with the wheel??

Ground Control makes some really nice ones.

You have a bump steer kit for the tie rods but not a roll center setup for the control arm ball joints??

Edit: I remember something like this for an E36 but don't see them available now?

I can't find them on the website either. It happens sometimes. Pictures and descriptions vaporize into the ethernet.

I am fixing it when I get a chance, I decided to just redo all of the pictures anyways.

So I can lower my car to the point that my control arms are angled the "wrong way" then use the ground control parts to fix that? I love the lowered look but don't want to hurt the car for the occasional HPDS it will see while I build up my track car.

Whodwho that's exactly what I'm looking for.

I guess I should have worded my response different; The ones I'm looking for would just be extenders to mount up to the stock tie rods/ball joints for a street car. The rod end style can be adapted to any car, but wouldn't hold up to dirt/rain/salt very well.
