M3 springs + E90 drop hats on a vert: tried it?

    Hi all,
As the title says, I bought M3 springs to lower the front of my 91 325ic (together with Billie sports) and I was advised by a friend to also install the E90 drop hats to lower the front a 1/2 - 2/3 of a inch further.
I was wondering whether somebody has done it before and, and if it's a good idea. The drop hats, as far as I know, will compress the M3 spring (designed for a lighter car) even further, and I wonder if that might detrimental for this kind of spring. I'll be running stock 14" basketweaves.
    Thanks a lot in advance!

Drop hats don't compress the springs, they just increase the height of the upper perch.

Frankly, M3 springs are not a great idea on a 'very in the first place. Drop hats will only make it worse. The truth is that drop hats are actually worse than cutting the springs because the springs get stiffer when you take out bits of them. (although they are more reversible)

Personally, I would sell the M3 springs for around a $100 and put that towards a set of H&R Sports, which will be a lot better suited for this.

No matter what spring setup you go with, you NEED to pop the bottom cap off the Bilsteins and trim an inch off of the bump stop if you don't want the car to ride horribly.

Thanks for your response! I understand M3 springs might not be the best idea to use on a vert, and the E90 drop hats may make it worse.
I've just read the "cabrio suspension" thread and there are a few guys out there using M3 springs in their verts. I just wanted to hear from them, whether or not they're using drop hats and if they like that setup?
For clarification, I just want to lower to front, not the whole car.
      Thanks again!
