    HELP: Z3 Steering Rack

    Hey guys,
Just purchase a used z3 rack for my 1990 325is. Any advice before i install? Known issues or problems when switching over? Any help would be appreciated!

I guess I get to be the one to tell you to search.

The forums work best when you do as much research as you can then come with specific questions about things you don't understand.

This is a thread just a few below this one which has lots of great info http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=233702

Z3 or E36 or E30 tie rods work, they must be the outer+inner from the same car.

The steering knuckle doesn't need to be modified on airbag cars

The firewall dust-boot plate needs to be ground down a bit for clearance,

The steering rack spacers go under the rack.

    Have a good day

Be creative. Home depot hardware. A length of pipe?

        1/2" length

I used some 1/2" nuts for spacers...I think 1/2", which ever ones were larger than the stock bolt.

          Worked great, no cutting required.
