    Sway bar bushing question

I got the red ones but my old ones are shaped like the black ones, are they the wrong ones or do I need a different bracket. I have an 18.6 front swaybar

I think my stock ones look like the red ones. Maybe the '84s are slightly different? Where did you get them from?

I am talking about the front sway bar, my bar is 18.64mm it is an '84 325e, let me go and take a picture of my brackets, I bought the bushings from BMP design for 39.95 a pair, they are made of urethane, I still have them but I was going to return them, but the way it looks I might just order different sway bar brackets if they will fit.

Definately a different kind of bracket there. I dont see why the newer style (I presume) brackets wouldnt fit in that same place, but thats sort of what all ive seen; the brackets meant for the red bushings that is. Maybe e and i model brackets are different? I can only guess, but this is what the brackets look like that the red bushings are meant for. Sorry for the poor picture but I took it when I was having a really difficult time installing them and this is the only picture I have left.

the bushings that I have are a lot beefier than any replacement will be for the brackets that I have, I would much prefer to find a set of front sway bar brackets than getting smaller(weaker) bushings. anyone have a picture of the (i) bracket off of the car?

Sorry I cant help on the picture of the brackets off the car, I looked though. However I did find the part number for the correct ones on realoem.

              The part number is 31351127202
You should be able to get it at a dealer or something.

It also shows up on the forum in a search in this thread -- http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...ht=31351127202
A few posts down there's the diagram from realoem. The bracket you have is #3, whereas the one you need is #5. Hope that helps at all.

thanks I didnt know that real oem would show that part, real oem isnt linking their picts anymore so you have to go to their site. but I found the pict and I will pay my dealer a visit tomarrow and see if they have it or how long it will take to get, if not I will call nick up at the euro depot. thanks for the input.

I ordered the brackets from BMW for 1.39 not far off of realoems 1.33 price. I will have them by monday.
