    12 hour suspension job :/

Okay so.... To begin with please don't let your e30 control arms get more than 132000 miles. scary things happen. Two don't do suspension work with out a clue what your doing. I made that mistake lol. And lastly. i find this really dumb. My shifter is touching the drive shaft. Whats up with that?!?! Its almost like i went to low and its hitting but i only dropped an inch! any input?

So I am guessing your question is about the shifter. You may check you trans mounts. Though most often when short shift kits are in stalled and the car lowered you have to bend the one shaft to clear.

Lowering the car would have no effect on the clearance between the driveshaft and the shifter. Post some clear pics of the shifter hitting and of the trans mounts, will be easier to help you.

did you try and change the ball joints or just buy new arms? cause that will take for ever.

alright so take pics of shifter see where its hittin. will do today. I replaced the arms, i dont have a press to take out or set the new bearing. the old "lollipop Bushing" got stuck. Kamotors Had to help me out hammer and hammer and pull and scream lol. finally got it. then as the night went on the tie rods got cross threaded, so that took about an hour to file new grooves. but all in all car is great now. besides the shifter being silly

i just replaced both front control arms and put in poly lower control arm bushings into the lollicup.

I think if i wasn't taking so many breaks i would have finished in maybe 4 hours? i think the longest part was me using a Dremel to cut out the old bushing since it was so jacked.

Research first and read what people are doing before you try and tackle a project. That helped me a lot reading what other members were saying to watch out for and any other tips.

first time it took me 5hrs and that includes the time to get a tool machined to do the cab's

the last time i did it was on my slicktop, took 2 1/2 hrs from car in the air to driving out of the shop. soooo much quicker when you have a hydraulic press and air tools at disposal.

but by far, one of my least favorite jobs. it SHOULD be easy, but never is.

and OP, i drove a car home with one CAB completely rotted out, it was sketch, but it made it.

woah, long time haha well what happened was the lollipop bushing was stuck on the control arm and when everything was going back on the tie rod threads got all boogered up and i had to file for an hour and a half :/ then my wheel almost fell off. oh well its been 5 months and everything is holding up nicely.
