as far as i can tell, the JOM's ride in the original strut housing with no modification.
You only have to modify if u want to be able to easily access the adjusters.
to seperate the rear trailing arms, have a friend apply pressure to them and you should be able to press the spring out.
This is what i have read as i am considering JOMs myself.
hope this was helpful

Do the front strut housings sit inside of something welded to the front hub assembly?
I've been looking at pictures and can't figure how they seat in there...
How do the rear spring seats lift/separate from the body of the car so I can put the new springs in there?
What kind of camber kits are recommended for a decent drop like I will have?
Thats it for now, thanks all!
As for the front suspension, if you have never decompressed a strut, I don't recommend that you try it on your own; unless you have had a proper demonstration. You may end up with a spring permanently stuck to your head.
From my experience removing the rear springs is easier than I initially thought. I removed the sway bar end links jack up the side from which the links have been disconnected and applied some downward pressure on that rear control arm while I yanked the spring lose. I think it would have been easier if I had an extra set of hands, but I managed it on my own. Just make sure you eat your wheaties... also I used some PB Blaster between the rear springs and the rubber perch pads. GoodLuck!WTB: Diamond Schwartz Hood
