    Solved

I just bought a used JOM kit off of another member here. Does anyone know if any JOM Group Buy used KYB Excel struts in any of the group buys? I just got these today and am not sure if I got the right parts.

no experience with those struts, probably inferior to jom or the same. i'd pair it up with bilsteins with different adjusters if i were u. gl

JOM shocks are designed around those springs rates with slow rebound. Which have an awesome ride for street use. Those KYB are stock type shocks. Put them on my second E30 and worked great with stock springs. I put the KYB on my first E30 with Eibach sports and they didn't last long.

So you bought a jom kit that does not have jom shocks and sounds like you'll end up replacing the adjusters as well. lol Well if you need a pair of coilover adjusters let me know. You can use the my front sleeves with the jom springs.

Please MP me pics, paypal info, etc.

I'm running H&R coilovers with tender springs, but, just picked up e30 m3 front struts and want to play with tem before doing full 5 lug swap.

rather have a weld free setup.

                  thanks,
                  frank

No you don't. If you were to run the JOM adjuster with those springs your car would sit higher then stock. If you do end up getting the JOM adjusters for what ever reason make sure you run a 4" spring.

Oh, thought JOM springs were like 6" or longer.,

I've figured that 6" springs + 2" off ground + extra room from GC's c/c plates would leave enough space for 6 to 8 inch springs, no ?

my H&R are adjusted all the way up with 6" + tender springs.

You can't compare free lengths when one is linear and one is progressive. That and the different top hat designs. Factory upper spring perch is higher then a coilover perch.
