Installing front Bilstein Sports, Collar doesn't seem to thread all the way down?

Do I just need to try harder? Is the wider portion of the collar supposed to be flush with the top tube of the strut housing?

No, it's normal to have a small gap

thanks, I forgot about the plastic ring going below the collar also :P

All is well, except 1 side won't thread, must be just dirty. Have to clean the threads out better tomorrow.
