So I went and decided that I wanted my car a bit lower up front. I sourced some strut housings and went to work. I cut the lower spring perch off and re-welded it 3/4 of an inch below it was stock. I put the Bilstein strut inserts in and installed the same drop springs as before, stock upper spring perch and new upper mount. Put it all back together no problems. Set it on the ground and drove around and it still hasn't settled. drove home 20miles and it still hasn't settled. It seems to be higher then when I started. So I hella frustrated with lack of....well... being in the dirt!
Bilstein sport Q?

My setup goes. 87 strut housings 51mm, Bilstein sport strut inserts, Vogtland springs, stock spring upper perch, stock pillow mount. My car didn't ride like it was on blown struts and the upper pillow mounts had some cracks from age. I didn't think that lowering the lower spring perch 3/4's of an inch and using all the same stuff basically. I would get an increase in height. Figured it would slam the crap out of it. WRONG. Do they just need some more driving around to relax????Comment
