E36 springs on an E30

    E36 springs on an E30

    I heard that E36 springs were compatiable on an E30, is this true? I was going to throw some tein lowering springs on my car but they seem to be for E36???

    I'm pretty sure the rears are interchangeble, but the fronts not.

        Non-M E36 springs will not fit in the front, E36 M3 springs WILL fit though. All E36 rears will fit.

        Problem is, since they're for a bigger/heavier car you're not going to get as much drop out of them.

          Its looking like I might go ahead and sell these. hmm what suspension are you running on your E30 (the one in the sig)?

            IE3 springs with Bilstein Sports and GC Touring camber plates. (Plates give additional 12mm front drop)

                I put non M E36 H&R Sports on my Early model 318i as I had them on hand and it was no lower than stock. Maybe a bit higher if anything.

                  Sorry but it's impossible that you did this. The springs are too big at the bottom and will not fit in to the E30's perch.

                    I didn't say that I kept them there or that they fit. I didn't take pictures either as I figured out that they didn't work quite quickly. I only tried it for the sake of my own information's.

                        In summation of this thread, just buy E30 springs for your E30 as E36 springs don't work.
