Want to run a Z3 rack on 318is...

Looking to run the zionsville conversion kit on my 318is:

Do I need to swap over to a non airbag steering column?

    Thanks,
    Danny

No. You will have to slot the firewall around 3/4", but you can use the stock airbag steering column and steering linkage.

You don't lol, and don't waste the money on that.

Search for a steering rack from a 1996 Z3 from your area code. I got mine shipped to me for 160.83 74k miles on it.

Remember that the 1.9 Z3 came with the lower ratio. So look for that and make sure you ask them before buying. I almost bought one from a 2.5 because they listed it wrong.

Good luck and you only need some metal washers and 3/8 3" bolts.

Don't need to modify my knuckle either?

I used a IE poly disk and my 1/4 die grinder with a carbide bit to remove the binding metal for more movement.
