    LOUD Noise from Top Mounts.

My e30 came with FK Coilovers with Ground Control Camber Plates in the front. While turning the wheel you hear LOUD Clunks coming from the front. I got under while my friend turned the wheel and looked at the coilovers while he turned. Looks like the top mounts arent secure. While he turned, the top mount would clunk and the spring would make sudden movements as it clunked.

I think they call this "coil binding?"

any insight as to the parts i would need.
can i use oem topmounts under the ground control plates or do i need special top mounts for the gc plates.

That is not coil binding, but rather the friction in the camber plate bearings.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Not coil binding, that's when the coils touch each other.

      ...those are race plates.

Your plates need a little maintenance.

Email me at markATground-control.com and I'll send you instructions. The process will only take you about 10-15 minutes.
