    GC rear coilovers without adjusters?....

I'm running an '87 on GC's with the rear adjusters removed like "Crunchy Bleach" and i'm bottoming out. I think its the rear shocks and that I need those badass extended RSM like Crunchy. Anybody else experience this?
It doesn't happen all the time, just good sized bumps.

Extended rear mounts won't increase travel. They are designed to reduce droop.

Do you still have the red threaded bung installed? Usually, the bung will contact the nylon cone before anything else.

      Thanks Mark...

So you would recommend that I ditch the threaded piece (by the way, once they are on, how do you get 'em off without damaging them?) how should I keep the springs in place? As the nylon caps stay with the springs

Once the threaded bungs are bedded in, they're pretty difficult to remove.
I thread the gold nut on them, then use a dead blow hammer and a big wood dowel to whack at the bottom of the nut...it's never easy, but it works.

As far as retaining the lower part of the spring, some have used stock pads. The nipple doesn't center the spring very well, but will keep the spring from sliding out of the perch. I don't recommend this method, but to each his own.

The nylon cone should be fully seated on the upper perch surface, usually the weight of the chassis does it for you, if not, it may be necessary to coax it on with a few whacks of the dead blow also. The tolerances on the nipples vary greatly from car to car.
