did things a bit differently than a standard E36 rack coupler mod.
Instead of the spacer/bolt/washer combo that is normally used, I made replacements for the stock pins that normally hold the coupler together out of high carbon tool steel.
here are a couple of pics of the results. should work just fine for this application.


the small diameter end was threaded for a used guibo nut, torqued and then welded to the pin to eliminate backing off. beats loctite all to hell...

at full adjustment, I have .625 of distance between the halves of the coupler, same as the spacer stack normally used. no more adjustment is available due to physical contact between the halves.
