Is there anything special about the washer itself or will any washer work as long as it's the right size?

I got my strut sockets from ZDMak on ebay. Basically a thin walled, deep 19mm socket with hex flats at the top. Instead of a 3/8 or 1/2 square drive, it has a round hole for the other part of the equation. They also sell special strut insert holding sockets. 8mm internal hex, 8mm external hex, and a 6.3mm "double D" for those OEM struts. As I recall it all of the tools cost $40 or $50, but when you need them they are priceless.

There's no substitute for the correct tool.

This is pretty close. I had the set anyway and just used the right sized allen wrench and it was easy.

And thanks for the part no. Devil Inc
