I recently bought and installed a set of slip on .I noticed everyones ride sits lower than mine about half way adjusted and mine are adjusted all the way down. In comparison to the installation I noticed there is a extra bit of length on my housing above the spring perch than other strut housings...My housing Click image for larger version

Your collar thing is upside down.

Friend of mine and I scratched our heads before we set his up properly too.

Did you remove the collar nut then slide the sleeve?

The blur collar adjusters sleeve has to go on before the the strut insert lock nut. Take the adjusters off, pull the strut retainer nut, Install the sleeves then install the retainer nut. Problem solved.
