    j stock vs bc coils...

how do j stock springs w/ proper valved billies compare to bc coilovers?
my suspension is blown right now and thinking about doing refresh.

you can't say bc is better if you haven't ridden on j stock.

my setup right now is billies and h&r sport and they are soft

I am looking for something stiff and i auto x often and starting to get into road courses. Its my daily but i dont care if its rough. i like it rough ;) ..................

I don't know anyone with I stocks who would recommend them for a daily driver.

I'm currently running j-stocks, and while they are great in terms of cornering ability, they are stiff as hell. They are progressive but after about the first inch of spring compression they become rock hard. I live in Calgary where the roads are terrible.....frost heaves, huge protruding manhole covers, cracks and pot holes everywhere. It's just not logical to run j-stocks here. That being said, if you live where the roads are decent, and you don't mind a harsh ride......you could probably be happy with the j-stock setup. I drove my car all the way from CA to Alberta (at least 20 hours) on j-stocks and it honestly wasn't that big of a deal....in fact I quite enjoyed the vast majority of it.

I'm currently in the process of installing Megan coilovers (with significantly softer rates than the j-stocks) which are essentially the same as BC's. I'm hoping to get a major increase in ride quality with a minor loss in handling ability. Actually around here I find that softer springs allow me to have a lot more control over the car while pounding over bumps and those sharp/jarring cracks at speed. I'll be able to give you a real comparo in about 5 days.

I'm pretty sure my excellent condition j-stock set up and GC RSM's will be going up for sale shortly thereafter

I had bilstein & h&r sport and thought they were too soft as well. I switched to J-Stock and they were exactly what I was looking for by giving it that gokart feel. I have no experience w BC coilovers but the J-Stock was just fine for daily driving for me. It's a firm ride but not that uncomfortable.

Daily drove a set for 5 years. Love them, bit crazy in Boston cow paths but the roads where I live now have pavement so they are better.

I vote J stock, Have I driven on BC...no but I do have H&R coilovers and I like the J stock better.

Had J-stock for about two years, n just switch to BC almost half a year ago and havent looked back. Love the BC's running 12k/14k might go a little bit stiffer in the rear, was rubbing a little with 255's with rolled fenders, and my car sits pretty low so that also the problem with the rubbing. But i like how it looks so i dont mind to much.
