I daily 600fr 750rr and its been a sweet setup. Twitchy rear with even a factory bar. Get a 19mm rear sway and front rates from 500-650 and rear rates from 650-800. That setup will prove to be very fruitful on a drift course.

id say at least 500f 750r, adjustable shocks, with larger sway bars to keep eveything solid. also solid bushes and diff mount and triangulate a rear top sturt brace to the floor and spaces between the subframe up to the underside of the floor, oposite the brace plate and bolted together to keep that solid. it will increase response and reduce breakages.
front caster is going to be your friend also. itll help steering response and centering. you may what to play with camber alot. too much is bad but not enough is equally as bad. both can upset the car alot. not so much to get sideways. but to control, catch and return from the slide will be harder.
i also suggest the z3 1.9 quick lock rack and GC rose jointed tie rod ends. they also help reduce bump steer, which can be a killer in a slide.Comment

I used GC 450f and 700r. with 22mm front way and 19 rear, works awesomeComment

i ran a stock 325is bar in the rear(i have an early model 318 chassis) for for a few months, then i tried the car without it, without the bar it made the car less twitchy in my opinion. as for the softer rates, i ve always liked my drift cars on the softer side for some reason, i just use the weight shift to me advantage.84 318i drift car
