    front struts for '89 325I?

hey guys I'm looking to do my suspension, ordered a set of 4 kyb shocks and the rears appear to be correct but the fronts are just "inserts". I can't seem to find replacement front full struts from kyb or any company for that matter. do they not make them? and if not how do I install these "inserts"? I'm doing a full set of eibach springs as well btw.

Afredo, its exactly how it sounds, INSERTS. All strut replacements are inserts, you might do yourself a favor and do some more reading, here's a diagram to help you along:

alright I was just wondering as I did front struts and springs on my buddy's E36 328i and you replaced the entire strut assembly, I figured it'd be the same for these but I guess not. What is the procedure for replacing the inserts for the front struts? and I assume for the rear the shocks just bolt in?

Remove the strut assembly from the car. Use spring compressors to release the pressure on the strut nut and spin it off with an impact wrench. Lift the spring of, undo the gland nut and take the insert out. Assembly is the reverse. Replace the upper strut bearings when you change the inserts.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

do you have a part number by chance for the upper strut bearings? can't seem to find it on realoem. same with the gland nut, I don't see that on the diagram. thanks!

The upper strut bearing is part 31331139452. I don't know if the KYB shocks use the OE gland (Bilstien shocks don't), but the OE part is 31321130069

KYB comes supplied with its own gland nut.
